At the end of March, Alan Waltz Entertainment provided the entertainment for Lisa Liddle’s birthday celebration.

Lisa used to sing in an alternative rock band, and our very own Alan got his start in the entertainment business as a drummer, so they particularly had lots to talk about in the planning session for Lisa’s party. Lisa loves 80s music, so, of course, we had everyone dancing to those classic party songs like Celebration and Love Shack during the event. 

Over 100 people attended Lisa’s party at the Silicon Valley Capital Club, and there was lots of fun, drinking, and dancing at this stunning club with the best view in all of San Jose.

On March 23, 2012, our team of Alan, Grady, and RJ, got the party started at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, right in the heart of Hollywood, for the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions. This was the second time that we’ve worked with the Coalition, and they definitely know how to have a good time (and when they have a good time, so do we!). Over 600 people were in attendance, and the dance floor was packed all night long, including a 200-strong flash mob to Beyonce’s “Move Your Body.”
What a night! Lighting and sound were provided by our friends at SOS Entertainment, and Alan Waltz Entertainment provided the fun.

We had a blast coordinating and working Jacob Orlov’s Bar Mitzvah earlier this month. What an event! There were 80 kids and 100 adults, so it was non stop action all night long! An added bonus was someone donned a panda costume towards the end of the night, so all the kids ending up dancing around the panda! This isn’t something we normally do, but who knows, we may have to include it for the future!

We worked with the Orlovs from the beginning to plan all the details of the event, and with so many people, it needed lots of planning! Alan, Grady, Serge, and RJ put together a great mix of music and dancing for everyone to enjoy. Serge with his “b-boy” moves particularly got the kids out on the dance floor and Grady was popping and locking with the best of them! We the adults out on the dance floor while the kids were eating, and when they were finished we played games with the kids so they could get involved too. There was just so much positive energy throughout the event, it was contagious! Jacob’s dad, Brian Orlov, who is a professional photographer (www.brianorlovphoto.com), added an additional element to the night by setting up a photo booth, and he had someone make custom T-shirts for the event, too, so everyone got a memento of the occasion.

The Orlovs gave us some great feedback: “The initial planning meetings are what made everything work at our party. The flow, the energy and music were perfect.  All my guests are still raving about the party and it was (3) days ago!!  Let the professionals do what they do best, and your party will rock!! Thanks for making some great memories for our family and friends.”

Earlier in March, we had the pleasure of working with the Solomon Family again on a second event; this time, for son Ben’s Bar Mitzvah at the Embassy Suites in Burlingame. The Solomons are always a joy to work with, and it’s particularly fun to see the whole family get on the dance floor—all kids, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.

We worked with Susie to plan the party from the beginning, and per Ben’s request, the party colors were black and gold, and the theme was “Welcome to B-Town.” With Ben’s top ten songs consisting of LMFAO, Wiz Khalifa, and Drake, Susie wanted to make sure that we played lots of hip hop for the kids but also wanted to keep some of the traditional elements like a Hora, Zemer-Tik and Mayim. She mentioned how she loved the group/line dancing we offered at her other son, Aaron’s Bar Mitzvah, and she also wanted to include some oldies but goodies to get the young-at-heart up on the dance floor too, so we knew we’d have a great mix of music for the Solomons.

We were proud to offer our services to Hillbrook School’s 2012 fundraiser earlier this month, which, through the ticket sales and donations, allows the school to offer financial aid to potential students! In working closely with the school, Alan Waltz Entertainment gave the whole event an 80s theme! Alan Waltz Entertainment made things totally rad by coordinating the event, decorating and lighting the space, DJ-ing, and providing an 80s themed arcade, complete with Pac-Man, Asteroids, Defender, Galaga Space Invaders and more!

Not only did we make the space totally tubular, but with the event being a costume party, our team even got into the 80s spirit. Grady Turner proved that no one “can’t touch this” as MC Hammer, Serge Suarez tore up the floor as an 80’s breakdancer, and Alan even dyed his hair blonde and dressed as Mr Mony Mony himself, Billy Idol. Most of the attendees dressed up, too, and the event was a great success for the school.
